Chocolate cake lovers should not miss this one. German Chocolate Cake Bars are so delicious and tasty. It is the way to grab and go, just so simple due to its size. How about the taste? Don’t worry about it, as long as we do each step of directions properly.
First thing to prepare is the ingredients. We can divide them into ingredients for crust and filling. For crust we need 1 (18,25 ounce) box devil’s good cake mix, ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted and a large egg. Next for filling we need 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk, 1 large egg, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, 1 cup chopped pecans, 1 cup shredded sweetened coconut, and ½ cup of milk chocolate chips.
Well, after all ingredients are ready, we can follow the instructions. First, preheat oven to 350 degrees, grease 9 x 13 inch baking pan or spray with cooking spray. Next, mix butter and egg, cake mix, in a medium bowl and press into the bottom of the pan we prepared before. Bake for about 7 minutes and remove from the oven. This crust will continue to bake in further step and while the crust is baking, mix sweetened condensed milk, egg, vanilla, pecans and coconut. Then pour over the warm crust evenly and sprinkle with chocolate chips. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until the top color turn into light golden brown. Be careful not too over. Remove from the oven and cool it completely before we cut into squares.
Many variants can be tried as many people suggested them in recipe or we can try to find our own recipes. However the basic steps and ingredients are as stated above. In addition to chocolate we can put beans, cashew or others that we believe to give more taste. Serving chocolate in bars or squares is appropriate particularly when we gather with family or relatives. The same idiom still prevails, practice makes better.
