To make sweet and salty almonds prepare ingredients as follow: 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips, 2 tablespoons raw turbinado sugar, 2 teaspoons flaky sea salt, 1 tablespoon extra-virgin coconut oil, 2 cups dry-roasted, unsalted almonds and 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder. Next, we move to the processing.
First, simmer a couple inches of water in a small saucepan over medium heat. Line with parchment paper a large baking sheet and set aside. Combine coconut oil and chocolate chips in medium sized, non reactive bowl.
Next, put the bowl on simmering water and ensuring that the bottom part of bowl not to have direct contact with the water. Stir the oil and chocolate using spatula until melted well.
Place the bowl over the simmering water, ensuring that the bottom of the bowl isn’t in direct contact with the water. Stir together the chocolate and oil with a spatula until everything is melted. Remove the bowl with melted chocolate from the stove carefully. Toss into the bowl and stir with a spatula quickly to coat in the chocolate.
Transfer to previous parchment lined baking sheet the chocolate coated almonds and scrap them out of the bowl using spatula. With two forks, separate the almonds as quick as possible. Put the baking sheet in the refrigerator to firm up the chocolate for about 20 minutes
