Special moments like Christmas or birthday party will be unforgettable as the crowds bite every ball of peanut butter covered with chocolate. It is perfect blend of sweet, salty and bitter. We can buy them at stores with various flavors and brands. In addition, we can give them as gift with beautiful decorated container.
In addition we can make them at home. Just gather ingredients needed (mainly chocolate and peanut butter) and take one recipe to work with. There are numerous recipes we will find in Google or magazine. Some people even find their own recipes with testimonies saying that making them at home is a great and fun experience.
We may start from following recipe. First, gather ingredients including 2 cups creamy peanut butter, 1/2 cup unsalted butter, room temperature, 2 teaspoons vanilla extract, 4 cups powdered sugar, sifted, 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt, 2 10-ounce packages candy melts and festive sprinkles (optional).
As these ingredients ready start step by step of processing as follow. First, take parchment paper to line a large baking sheet. Next, blend peanut butter, butter, and vanilla using electric mixer on medium speed (use large bowl), mix them well. Slow the mixer speed and gradually add salt and powdered sugar and mix until combined well.
As these ingredients combined, use medium speed of mixer and beat for 2 minutes. Measure the dough using small cookie scoop (about 2 tea spoons) and roll each to form small ball and put them onto baking sheet as prepared. Refrigerate them for about an hour.
Melt candy wafers as directed by manufacturer (on the box). Next, dip the dough balls into melted candy wafer and place the candy coated ball on baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Add sprinkles immediately after the peanut butter balls have been dipped.
As all peanut butter balls have been coated and placed on baking tray, move them into refrigerator for an hour. As the coating is set, transfer into storage container and refrigerate until serving time.
