How to Make Chocolate Boxes
Chocolate boxes are unique and creative way to box up other presents as candy, jewelry or others. It is fun and sometimes challenging to make but gives great experience of decorating with edible and luscious material like chocolate. First thing to do is gathering the ingredients. According to one suggestion, we will need 12 ounces chocolate candy coating, ruler, and other decorations or candy for finishing. By this way we can make one large or three small boxes (5 inch and 2 inch respectively).
Next, melt in the microwave candy coating until turns smooth and free of lumps. Then pour the coating onto a baking sheet. Pour the melted coating on baking sheet previously lined with parchment paper or aluminum foil. Use spatula or knife to spread the coating to make a thin and even layer with ¼ to 1/8 inch of thickness. Then tap the sheet against the counter to make the thickness of chocolate even and remove all air bubbles. Refrigerate the tray to make the coating for about 4 to 5 minutes.
At this stage, the coating is still malleable so take a knife and rulers to score lines in it. Don’t wait until it’s too hard because the crack or break is possible. After that start assembling the box. Place bottom part of the box on a parchment and use paintbrush to dab the melted coating along one side of bottom.
Next add wall to the chocolate box. Press one side against the base and hold until the coating begins to set. It hardens fairly quickly then add a second side. Press the second side against the wet chocolate and hold and use paint brush to fill any cracks. Repeat the process of painting to the third side.
The last touch is adding decoration to the final side. Paint two exposed sides and bottom edge with melted chocolate and press the final panel onto the melted chocolate. Hold until it sets and fill in any gaps. The chocolate box is ready now.
